Distance learning manuals from LTTA
As a registered training centre we are able to provide a comprehensive portfolio of distance leaning programmes, the two
most popular within the hospitality industry are Health & Safety and Food Hygiene foundation certificates .
To assist our ever busy hospitality clients with the running of their businesses the
LTTA have developed distance learning
programme for both the Health & Safety and Food Hygiene
foundation course. The idea behind this programme is to minimise
the time your staff spend away from your business and also to
maximise your companies staff development programme.
This means that your staff members will be able to work their way through the course manuals at their own speed,
ensuring they absorb more underpinning knowledge than the traditional learning method of the one day training programme.
This course is designed for all staff, in particular trainees and new recruits. This course is
finalied with an in house multiple choice examination at your premises, making this an ideal basis for staff induction.
Your corporate identity
To establish a professional image for your business the
LTTA can also produce induction training manuals and distance
learning packs with your own company logo and details on both front and back covers, creating a professional
image for staff inductions or staff development programmes.

Health & Safety Staff Handbook
LTTA can also produce your Health & Safety staff induction hand books (now a legal requirement when 5 or more people
are employed on the premises), again we can add your own corporate identity if you require this. The Health and Safety at
Work Act (1974) requires employers to provide a safe place and safe systems of work for both their employees and
anyone else who comes into contact with their business e.g. the general public, sub contractors etc.
Risk Assessment
In addition to the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Health and Safety Management Regulations
require that all work activities and locations are assessed for risk and that the risks identified are either removed entirely,
reduced or control measures introduced. These regulations are the cornerstone of modern health and safety legislation.
All the above places a high responsibility on Employers, Owners and Managers of businesses whom have to comply with
health and safety legislation.
Proprietors and Managers ultimately hold the responsibility for health and safety in their premises. They may delegate the
authority to carry out health and safety audit/duties but they cannot delegate the overall responsibility. The fines for breaches
of the health and safety legislation can be costly and are up to £20,000 per section and/or up to six months imprisonment for
the guilty Owner/Director/Manager.
If LTTA can help or assist with any of the above please
